One of the best-ever evocations of Rubber Soul-era Beatles.

This song creates a huge landscape full of sadness in my heart. I have been listening to it now for a few weeks. Why this cut never made it on to the radio and became a hit is beyond me.

This song hit me like a runaway truck when it came out. It was "our song" during a particularly wrenching relationship, and I still feel everything I felt when i first heard it. That final "to a perfect world" may be the most perfect, wrenchingly gorgeous hook of that decade.

This may sound weird - this song brought me comfort when my Dad was stricken with cancer back in 1985. He’d had a tough life - lost his Dad at age 14 and had to become the man of the house for his younger siblings. He was seriously wounded during WWII and had chronic back pain ever since. This song captured my feelings when he was sick and dying - I wanted him to be live longer and be pain free - I wished I’d appreciated him more when he was around and I wished the two of us could go to that perfect world and play golf and watch ballgames together, even for a little while.
