My mom and her sisters used to sing this around a camp fire. My mom played the guitar and harmonica. In the hills of Pennsylvania many years ago. Nice memories.

when i was just a kid, my mom and my sister Linda, would always make me cry with this song. today im 52 and my sister just turned 55, she has lung cancer and the doctor man said that she would die..the next time the leaves begin to fall. Now I have lost my mom , dad, and my brother, and my sister is realy all i have...and theres no strings strong enough to keep her here. so thank you for posting this song, I have been looking for it for so many years. strange that i find it now. but thank you verry much

Fun fact: this lovely song was written by actress Dorothy Sebastian, who is now best known as a wife of western star Hopalong Cassidy and also a girl friend of comedian Buster Keaton. She was a pretty lady from Alabama with some obvious songwriting talent.
