I love Milt Jackson. Check out his early stuff with Thelonious Monk. The Jackson/Monk collaboration on "Four in one" is maybe my all time fave jazz composition

Huge popular record for Milt J in Europe. Bought this just before departing for Australia in 1960, were the Jazz scene was rather mediocre, to say the least. A few coffee-shops (no alcohol) in Sydney, just near Kings Cross, with live performances. But back to this exceptional album, Frank Wess was at times an Basie-band member. On the flip side of the (complete) LP he plays the tenor. Great record of Jazz times past. So enjoy & Cheers!
