Fun Fact: Kraftwerk was utilizing an optical disc "melotron" like intrument named Vako Orchestron that played recorded samples from plastic discs with optical soundtrack on it as a loop. They used it for String sounds and Chorus. It can also be heard on the "Radioactivity" album. I think Ralf Hütter actually saw it on a music instrument show and instantly bought one right there.
