After my parents divorced when I was six, my younger brother & I would see my dad two days a week, on Wednesday evenings & Saturday afternoons. He had a cassette player in his car, and bought a few cassettes, I think mainly for us to listen to. We certainly did listen to them, again and again, over the next couple years. Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Bobbie Gentry, Andy Williams. One of them was a Jerry Reed album with this song on it. I loved it then, and I love it now. It brings back those visits with my dad, almost like they were yesterday, and not 45 years ago.

I remember when this was the theme for Bill Dance Outdoors. Even though there has been another song that has been played for the last few years when that show comes on, I still here this one in my head. I wish that Mr. Dance would would bring this back for just one more episode of his show. Brings me back to how I felt as a kid.
