After I ate, I threw the few remaining scraps over to the rodents, just to keep them away… Then I was captured by this unstoppable fatigue and quickly flitted into and out of short disturbed dreams. I was occasionally stirred by irregular lights, disorientating noises and vibrations. The city had some relentless energy that grated its own tune, countless souls… grinding, gears crushing and squeezing the life blood out of everything… it was unrelenting, a tumbling turbine… an engine of despair… Liberty wore thin, quickly to zero.
