"Allegedly the first white bluesman, whatever that means." Just one of the best of the ones who recorded early on. There were plenty of whites who recorded blues earlier than him, such as guitarist Helen Louise, who died in 1919, singer Al Bernard from New Orleans who was friendly with W.C. Handy and was recording his blues in 1919, guitarist Sam Moore from Florida who recorded "Chain Gang Blues" for Okeh in 1921, guitarist Nick Lucas who recorded "Teasing The Frets" in 1922, fiddler John Carson who recorded "Tom Watson Special" in 1923, and guitarist Henry Whitter whose "Lonesome Road Blues" was a big hit.

1:33 Wait a sec...how can he be "getting right on good red liquor" if the year was 1929 & there was a prohibition on alcohol?

One of my favorite songs, but you will need a compass, sextant, slide rule, Ti BA-II, sun dial, and a pair of loaded dice to decipher the timing of Frank.
