I loved it when the TV show Frasier May reference to this song when he stated that he would never welcomed the girl back until the 12th he closed the door and said of never
My beautiful Nanna passed away a couple of weeks ago and her funeral was just the other day. My Grandad had this played as her final song and it breaks my heart completely. As soon as the tune started he complety broke down and it killed us all to see. I now listen to this whenever I need a really good cry.
This was sung at my wedding on 1/2/1971..my cousin had a beautiful voice and he sang it..will be married 49 years in January 2020....a good omen to have from the song...
When my grandparents were young teenagers in love, my grandfather wrote my grandmother a love note and at the end he signed his name and included “until the twelfth of never” They then spent over 50 years together until he passed away last fall. My grandmother to this day still has that letter and she cries every time she hears this song on her radio and I can’t lie, it brings me to tears too.
